Broker Sense in Microsoft 365 Copilot

For the IT admin who manages the firm's Microsoft 365, and for the firm's insurer or compliance team

Broker Sense gives Microsoft 365 Copilot current, sourced knowledge of the Australian lending market: lender policy, products and rates, government schemes, stamp duty and grants, indicative borrowing power, and what brokers did on hard cases. It's added as an agent in Copilot, so brokers use it in Copilot in Teams, Outlook and the browser, inside the firm's Microsoft 365 environment. Setup takes about five minutes.

Licences: each broker needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence (Copilot Business is enough). Each broker also needs a LoadingSense account (they sign up at app.loadingsense.com and verify their credit representative number).

Set it up (Microsoft 365 admin)

You need the Global Administrator or Teams Administrator role.

  1. Download the Broker Sense agent package (broker-sense-for-copilot.zip, version 1.0.22). Don't unzip it.
  2. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings → Integrated apps and choose Upload custom apps.
  3. Choose the package, then pick who gets it: the firm's brokers (a group or named users) or everyone. Accept the permissions and Deploy.
  4. It can take up to a few hours to appear. Brokers then find Broker Sense under Agents in Copilot. Its tools can take a little longer to switch on than the agent itself: if Broker Sense says it can't reach its tools, wait an hour and start a new chat.

If Upload custom apps isn't offered, custom apps are turned off for the tenant: allow them in the Teams admin center (Teams apps settings), then try again. Emailing us at hey@loadingsense.com gets you a hand.

First use (each broker)

  1. Open Copilot, choose Broker Sense under Agents, and ask a lending question.
  2. The first time, Copilot shows Sign in to Broker Sense. A small window opens: choose Continue with Microsoft and use your work account, or enter your email and type the 6-digit code we send into that same window (the email's link would open your browser instead). Approve, and that's it: Copilot keeps the sign-in, and the broker can disconnect it any time from their LoadingSense account.

Security and data

Plain answers for the firm's insurer and compliance team. Our privacy policy has the full detail.
What can the agent see in Microsoft 365?

Nothing beyond the conversation. The Broker Sense agent has no access to the firm's email, files, SharePoint, Teams messages or calendars: it doesn't request Microsoft Graph permissions, and it isn't given any Microsoft 365 knowledge sources. Copilot decides when to call Broker Sense, from what the broker asks.

What leaves Microsoft 365, and where does it go?

When Copilot calls Broker Sense, it sends the lending question and a de-identified scenario (bands such as an LVR range, state and income type) to LoadingSense's servers. Our main systems and data are hosted in Australia (Google Cloud, Melbourne); some service providers are overseas, mainly in the United States. Like any Copilot agent that connects to an outside service, these calls leave Microsoft 365, so include them in the firm's assessment.

Client information

Broker Sense is built to work without client information: it asks for scenario bands, never names, contact details, addresses, identification numbers or exact figures, and it actively strips client details from anything it's sent before saving. Brokers are told the same in the agent. Borrowing power estimates use exact figures for the calculation only; they're never stored.

Sign-in and access

Each broker signs in individually (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE), so every action is tied to a named, verified broker: we confirm each broker's credit representative or licence number against ASIC's register. Copilot holds the sign-in in Microsoft's token store; the firm's admin can remove the agent for everyone at once in the admin center, and a broker can revoke Copilot's access from their LoadingSense account.

Protection and records

Encryption in transit, restricted access and an append-only audit log of every write. Credentials are stored only in protected form. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles; if a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we notify the affected brokers and the OAIC as the law requires.

What Broker Sense is (and isn't)

An information service for licensed finance brokers. It informs the broker; the broker advises the client and holds Best Interests Duty. It isn't credit assistance to consumers, and it doesn't submit applications or contact lenders.
